AUGUST 2014

The entire month of AUGUST we are focusing on EMOTIONAL HEALTH.

The copy of the Dashboard is now going to reflect performables, or exercises, to apply the Scripture teachings to your life.

The video teaching is selected to provoke thoughts about emotional health and help you walk a path of unhindered heart affection towards the Lord, your spouse, your friends and yourself.

PERFORMABLES

  1. Assess your overall emotional health at this point in your life at http://www.angermanagementresource.com/emotional-wellness.html#sthash.smqRYx02.dpbs .
  2. What does emotional health mean to you? Define and write down your conceptual understanding of emotional health. What would it look like for you to be emotionally healthy?
  3. The relational roles we play in our interaction with God, people, ourselves and circumstances fall into one of three standard profiles: victim, perpetrator or rescuer. Which role do you most commonly settle into within the family/relationship systems of your life? Write down your understanding of why you adopt that behavioral role most often.
  4. Explain your understanding of relational boundaries. How should boundaries give a person their freedom back? Where do you struggle with boundaries?
  5. Using the Drama Triangle (Karpman Triangle – Sunday "TRUTH" teachings) how will your execution of this tool change the behavioral and emotional health in you? How will it impact your kids for the rest of their lives?
  6. Our most fundamental need in the human experience is to feel intimacy. What does intimacy (non-sexual) mean to you? How does shame destroy intimacy towards God, people (wife, kids and friends), and your own love with yourself?
